I’d be interested in having a deeper discussion with you (maybe even cross-posting on our blogs) about this … from observing relationship dynamics for a long time and my spiritual background in Course in Miracles, I’m pretty convinced that monogamy not only doesn’t work but isn’t ever going to work, that it’s actually fundamentally designed to fail.

It’s funny because I can see myself hopping from job to job when I grow older, and I don’t really see it as not learning my purpose. Then again, I’m not 30 yet.

Thanks Kevin. I believe that my next blog post should be about just that. Look for it in the next couple of days.

The short form in my experience is “We need to talk about the rules of our relationshp” doesn’t work nearly as well as “These are the rules I live my life by.”

I appreciate you taking the time to express this.

I hope that with my exposure to my lifestyle a few people may have their eyes opened to possibilities that might otherwise have ended up in unhappy relationships due to a lack of knowledge.

You know, I have a question. You keep saying that two partners should sit down and talk through the rules. Should that be segued into? Can you just confront your partner one day and say, “Look, we need to talk about the rules of our relationship?” I mean, even when my former supervisor went up to me to talk about work-related rules, it would feel extremely uncomfortable.

Thanks for sharing that Dave, in reality your lifestyle isn’t wrong, it just is.

It clearly works for you and makes you happy so why change it?

I have so much more respect for you, and everyone else who has the awareness, honesty and courage to be aware of what they truly want in a relationship and go get it than all those people who get married because they “should” and live lives of quiet desperation.

As stated at the beginning “One possible route”

Guys are less tolerated on online dating sites by the companies that run them and are much less likely to receive a warning from sites that are mainstream. eharmony for example has rejected a number of people I know from their site because of these people being upfront about their poly nature.

Women don’t generally send naked pictures to guys on online dating sites where guys will often do so.

I’ve been too darn busy this past month and need to make some adjustments to keep up on this blog. Sorry about that.
